Publication of Records Regarding the UFO Incident Involving a Chilean Navy Helicopter

The documents in question, initially shared with The Black Vault by the YouTube channel "Omega Click," were acquired from the Air Force of Chile. The release of these documents was facilitated by "Omega Click," and credit for obtaining and allowing them to be hosted on The Black Vault is duly attributed to them. To validate the release, emails exchanged between the DGAC and "Omega Click" were reviewed.

The Chilean Navy helicopter UFO encounter occurred on November 11, 2014. During a routine daytime patrol mission, the helicopter, an Airbus Cougar AS-532, was flying along the coast west of Santiago. On board were an experienced Navy pilot and a technician testing a FLIR infrared camera, which incidentally captured an Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP).

The helicopter was flying at an altitude of approximately 4,500 feet in clear weather conditions with good visibility and a temperature of about 10°C. While flying at a speed of around 240 kilometers per hour, an unusual object was detected by the Chilean Air Force's FLIR camera.

This incident had previously circulated on the internet, with some mistakenly identifying it as an airliner landing, an explanation dismissed by the Chilean government as absurd. "Omega Click" took the initiative to contact the SEFAA (Anomalous Aerial Phenomena Studies Section of the Government of Chile) to request access to the documents. About ten days later, the DGAC provided the documents, including internal correspondence, forms, analyses by external consultants, flight data, and a high-resolution video.

The documents revealed that SEFAA had organized secret meetings to investigate the UFO case. They contained transcripts from the helicopter operator who recorded the object using the FLIR MX HD WESCAM camera. The meteorological report explicitly ruled out a meteorological phenomenon, and the photogrammetry department of the air force stated that the object was none of the conventional possibilities, displaying controlled movement and reflecting light.

The GEIPAN file also indicated that the object was traveling at a similar speed to the filming helicopter, approximately 240 kilometers per hour. Forensic analyses conducted by external consultants suggested the object might consist of two rotating spheres. Various letters were presented to government officials, further emphasizing the unidentified nature of the object captured by the Chilean Navy.

Despite limited attention in the media of the individual's home country, the release of these documents has the potential to raise significant questions and challenge conventional explanations. The case remains open and continues to be of great interest to "Omega Click" and the wider public. Links to the document archive and related videos were provided for further exploration.
